Campus Style 1.7.14

It seems like UCSD students are starting the new year off with style! We were out on Library Walk week 1 to get some inspiration from our fellow Tritons and see how people were dressing for the freezing winter weather of San Diego. (Lows of 60. Let’s be real though.) Check out some of our favorite looks below!

DSC_0882_zpsf0f1d0efA major issue when dressing for San Diego winter weather is being dressed too warm. This girl has perfected the art though. Her long maxi skirt keeps her covered, but not too covered with its beautiful draping detail and her light top is balanced with a chic jacket that looks just thick enough to get her through the coldest parts of the day.

IMG_8352Velvet is becoming big again. These red velvet leggings give this outfit a little flare. The rich color is offset by the dark black and grey colors of the sweater and scarf. It’s an effortless way to look warm, comfy, and chic.

DSC_0886_zps4a9c8d5eEveryone who’s experienced winter knows that layering is absolutely essential and this fine lady’s layering game is on point. She keeps herself cool by using a crop top and sheer tights as layers under heavier pieces. And when she needs to shed a layer, she ties it around her waist. Thank goodness that’s cool again.

IMG_8348This girl’s top. That is all. If this is you, can you please tell us where you got it from?! Pieces like this are great for layering and adding interest to an outfit.

IMG_8342The camo trend is still going strong. Pairing it with  light khakis lets the top speak for itself, and the side-parted, sleek haircut pulls everything together nicely.

Printed pants are walking all over campus recently and my favorite prints are plaid. Her top is great too. It’s simple enough to balance out her pants, but unique enough in style to keep her outfit interesting from head to toe.

So, in conclusion, us Tritons have winter dressing on lock. (Mostly because the weather here is the same year around.) To see more well-dressed Tritons check out our album on our Facebook page. If you see yourself in any of the pictures make sure to let us know by tagging yourself. We’re loving what we’re seeing, so keep stepping out in your best and F.A.M.E. might feature you next!
